Lowe and Firstborn created this educative online adventure for the US Treasury. The site's hotel environment is an intricate blend of 3D and HD video that mimics classic black and white film noir of the 1950s.

The experience's gameplay was a classic point and click adventure game. The user has to explore the hotel and learns about debt management and credit score along the way. In order to reach the goal of the game (entrance to room 850), the inventory has to be filled and interactive puzzles have to be solved.

Throughout the experience the user encounters a variety of simple minigames, that need to be solved in order to reach the goal of the game. These interactive moments include dialing numbers in an old fashioned phone booth, guessing a safe combination, dragging coins in an aquarium into a treasure chest (solved via APE physics engine) and using a magnifying glass to read a tiny book.

As part of the educational aspects of the experience I created two calculators, that can help you manage and pay back your credit debt. The 'Budget Calculator' allows you to see how much money per month you can spend towards paying back debt and how long it will take until you are debt free (the APR makes this calculation slightly more difficult than it sounds at first glance). Similarly the 'Real Cost Calculator' analyzes payments that you make with your credit card and tells you how high the price of an item really is, after you paid the APR of your credit card charges.
